Please note that at tonight's game at Cherokee High School, they will be using new security procedures. - At the home and visitor's gates, they will have weapons detectors that fans MUST pass through before entering the game. - No one can enter the stadium until the gates open at 5:30. - Kickoff will remain at 7:00 PM. - Please arrive early as it may take longer to enter the stadium. - Stadium seats, lawn chairs, and strollers with metal are still allowed in the stadium, but they may slow the process of entering the stadium. Cherokee Lions Club is collecting gently used eyeglasses at the game tonight. Anyone who donates will receive a $2 voucher to the concession stand for each pair donated. Come and support our team! The “Bear Advisory” Culinary Class at Phillips High School welcomed SNAP-Ed REA Ginger Eatman as their guest presenter.  Mrs. Ginger talked to our students about saving more at the grocery store, healthy meal planning and how to plate their food.  She talked about the importance of eating from all the food groups and how much of their plate should be fruits and vegetables and whole grains.  Our students prepared and tried Turkey spinach wraps and tasty taco dip with a side of oranges, spinach and bell pepper.  Live Well Alabama and Ginger Tittle Eatman

Exciting things are happening at Phillips High School! Our students are diving into special learning experiences that are sparking creativity and expanding their horizons during Bear Advisory. Students are learning about Steven Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Successful People," creating a book during creative writing, learning about taxes, banking, creating budgets, and credit verses debt cards in financial literacy. During culinary class, the students made twice baked potatoes and buffalo chicken dip. Students are learning the FFA creed during public speaking. Proud of the growth and enthusiasm in our halls! #Growing Together #WeArePhilips

Attendance Matters....all day, on time, every day! Every school day counts, and every absence can impact a student's ability to learn and grow! September is National School Attendance Awareness Month. Kicking Off the Attendance Matters Initiative! We're excited to announce the launch of our Attendance Matters Initiative! From now until the end of the semester, every single day you're at school, you'll be making a big difference in your future and earning a chance to win AMAZING prizes. Here's how it works: Be Here, Be Present: Each day you're at school, you'll be entered into a prize drawing. The more days you attend, the more chances you have to win! At the end of each week, the students with perfect attendance will be entered to receive some prizes. Special Prizes Await: At the end of each month, we'll draw for some extra special prizes! Think gift cards, extra break time, and more! The grade level with the highest percentage of attendance will be rewarded with a special event at the end of each month. At the end of the semester, we will enter every student with perfect attendance for a chance to win a massage, spa time, and a Play Station 5. Teacher Attendance Matters! We will also reward the teacher with the highest percentage of attendance at the end of the semester with a fabulous prize. Why Attend Every Day? 1. Boost Your Success: Regular attendance is linked to better grades and future opportunities. 2. Build Lifelong Habits: Developing a strong attendance record helps you in school and beyond. 3. Win Cool Stuff: Get rewarded for doing what you do best--showing up! Let's make this semester our best yet! Be here, stay engaged, and let's show everyone that Attendance Matters!
