Mrs. Gray's 2nd graders are working with adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers within 1,000. They used concrete models to represent their 3-digit numbers, and Mrs. Gray connected 3-digit addition to their prior learning of 2-digit addition using the number line strategy.

Last week our teachers participated in 2 days of professional development. We learned how to use proficiency scales more effectively, analyzed data, and unpacked the standards from the Alabama Course of Study to ensure that we are understanding the expectations of the standards to plan for instruction. Thank you to everyone for all of the hard work!

Tomorrow, January 13th, all Marion County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay. All buses will run approximately 2 hours later than normal, and classes will begin 2 hours later than usual. This will allow shaded areas more time to clear before school in the morning. Be safe!

Welcome Back
As the temperatures begin to drop this week, highs only in the 30s, we realize we may have some students who will struggle to stay warm. We are hoping to provide these students with a gently used coat or blanket, and warm socks or gloves. If your child needs some warm items, please reach out to Nurse Candice on Facebook or call the school tomorrow. You may also send a note Tuesday. Please include child's name, grade, sizes, and what is needed. We need these requests by Tuesday at 3pm. We hope to have items to the students by Thursday or Friday. We will do our best to provide, but we cannot guarantee each request will be fulfilled. If a community member wishes to help, please reach out to Nurse Candice on Facebook or at the school tomorrow. Together, we can keep our students warm and learning! Go BEARS!❤️🖤
