Thank you to Title 1 Parents
Due to our bus riders not being able to take items such as balloons, stuffed animals, glass, flowers, etc. on the buses because of safety reasons and in order to be fair to all students, we WILL NOT be taking Valentine’s Day deliveries at HES on February 14th. However, parents may, with teacher permission, send individually wrapped, store-bought treats and/or Valentine’s cards to school. We will not be having class parties, just regular snack with the addition of Valentine’s treats if teacher approved. Thanks for understanding as we strive to be fair to all of our students!

Parents, the picture with this post shows the importance of why students need to attend school on a regular and consistent basis. In order to try to boost our attendance which in turn will boost our students’ academic success, HES will implement the following incentives beginning January 3, 2023: Perfect attendance (no absences, tardies, or check ins/outs) Month of January = 15 minutes of recess January/February = Popcorn Party January/ February/March = Glow Party in Gym January thru May = Pizza Party Please help your child earn these incentives for attendance by having him/her at school on time each day. Thank you

We have some very positive news to share about HES. First, our school recently scored an 88 on its State Report Card—2nd highest of all Marion County Schools and above the State Average in all areas. Our goal is to have an A next year. Second, our Show Choir just finished several amazing performances of Disney’s Frozen Kids. Third, our teachers and students will be celebrating our most recent Star Assessment scores as they showed much promise on our journey to becoming and sustaining an academically elite school. To celebrate, our teachers and students will be spending some fun time together this Friday by having a fun snack and enjoying a morning of fun activities! Thank you!

HES AfterSchool Program Parents, we will have our AfterSchool program today. As a precaution, we will have law enforcement patrolling the area to keep eyes on things. We don’t believe there’s any reason to fear having your child on campus this afternoon, but if you prefer that your child ride the bus or be picked up at the end of the regular school day, call the office asap to let us know. Thanks!

Attention HES parents, law enforcement has lifted the hard lockdown and our campus will resume normal activities. However, law enforcement will remain on campus through at least lunch and our classrooms and other buildings will remain locked. Thanks!

HES Parents, Be advised that HES is currently under a lockdown due to a threat being made against our school. Law enforcement are on scene and investigating. We think it’s a hoax as other schools in North Alabama have been experiencing similar issues today! Your kids are safe and we are taking all precautions to keep them safe! Thanks
