Important dates to remember in March
This Friday, March 3rd, will be a Teacher Workday for all Marion County Schools. Students will not come to school on that day.
Marion County Schools invites parents to a meeting concerning the district wellness policy on March 16, 2023, at 3:30 PM. The meeting is to be held at the Marion County Board of Education office, 188 Winchester Drive, Hamilton, AL.
Healthy choices at school help keep our students healthy and ready to learn. The wellness policy helps our schools create an action plan for nutrition and physical activity at school. Parents can share feedback to help ensure the policy is meeting the needs of the students.
Today we honor two legendary teachers and coaches for their service to Phillips High School and Bear Creek. Billy Raper and Monk Romine demonstrated extraordinary leadership and character as they touched the lives of so many in this community and many more. #GoBears

Phillips High School JAG students competed against 19 other schools today with a total of over 450 students present at JAG District. They qualified for JAG State Conference. Also pictured are Lauren Welch, 1st Place Career Prep., and Abby Keller, 3rd Place Employability Skills.
We are having a water issue at the schools. However, the problem has been worked on over the weekend. Our water is on and the toilets are flushing. We are going to send the students home early tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday, February 7th. We will load the buses at 12:00. This will give our maintenance people time to provide a better solution to the problem. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work to get the issue resolved.
In addition, the boys basketball Area Tournament will still be scheduled and played at Phillips High School on Tuesday, Feb 7th & Friday, Feb 10th.

We are so excited to recognize Emma Taylor as the 2023 Bryant-Jordan Region 7 Achievement Award recipient. Along with this award Emma will receive a $3000 scholarship and an opportunity to move forward to the State level and more scholarships.

PHS would like to recognize students for the Bryant Jordan Student-Athlete Program. Emma Taylor was selected for the Achievement Award and Haley Harbin for the Academic Award. Both girls will now compete for the area awards in each category.
