Marion County Principals, Assistant Principals, and Central Office Administrators strive to be lifelong learners. We have participated in two years of administrative leadership training that involved both individual coaching at the school level and system whole group training. Kacy Pierce, Denise Woods, and Cheryl Capps were our trainers and mentors. During the process they have become partners and friends of Marion County Schools.

Health Heroes will be offering vaccines on April 24th at HMS. This is an opportunity to get the REQUIRED TDap vaccine for incoming 6th graders. It is offered free of charge to all incoming 6th graders who are 11 years or older. They will also be giving the MCV and HPV vaccines if you are interested in getting those for your kiddos. A consent form is required. The form is due this Friday. Letters were sent home with students who still need their 6th grade booster. Contact Nurse Linda Stowe if you have questions at (205) 921-7030.

State testing at HMS begins tomorrow! All students will test Tuesday-Thursday. 6th and 8th grades will also test on Friday. Please be sure your child is present, on time, well rested, and has eaten a healthy breakfast. The Alabama State Department of Education has established a policy which strictly prohibits the possession of digital devices (including but not limited to cell phones, smart watches, or any other devices capable of capturing or relaying information) during testing. If a student is observed in possession of a digital device during the administration of the test, testing for that student will stop, the device will be confiscated and is subject to search, the student will be dismissed from testing, and the student’s test will be invalidated. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
