We would like to urge all parents of K-3 students to attend our annual Alabama Literacy Act meeting. October 14th at 5:00pm in the gym -come learn more about this literacy law and how it impacts your students.


We are partnering up with Yellowhammer chapter of Defenders LE MC and The Freewill Baptist Family ministries to aid in collecting supplies and food items for those affected by Hurricane Helene.

School will resume for Marion County students on Wednesday, August 7th, and motorists will be sharing the road with school buses once again. Please allow additional time in your daily commute to accommodate more traffic, including buses, on the roadways. Our Transportation Department operates with our children’s safety as its number one priority. Please help them keep our children safe by keeping a watchful eye for school buses and being mindful of the law which pertains to them.

Barry Kerr (Small Group Counselor), Bridget Perkins (School Based Mental Health Therapist), and Ashley Seaborn (Mental Health Services Coordinator - not shown) were recognized at today's board meeting for Mental Health Awareness Month. We are grateful to have them!


Due to the threat of severe weather, all Marion County Schools will be delayed two hours tomorrow, Thursday, May 9th. Be weather aware and stay safe!


Marion County Principals, Assistant Principals, and Central Office Administrators strive to be lifelong learners. We have participated in two years of administrative leadership training that involved both individual coaching at the school level and system whole group training. Kacy Pierce, Denise Woods, and Cheryl Capps were our trainers and mentors. During the process they have become partners and friends of Marion County Schools.


The GES Book Fair will be next week- April 29 to May 3. Please send Book Fair money in a labeled envelope. Thank you for your support!


Just a reminder for GES car rider student pick up line. Anyone picking up a student will need their card- placed somewhere in a visible location. This is in place for a quick and safe car line.
-If you don't have a card at car riders- Students will be picked up from the office by an adult on the checkout list (verified in the office)
-If you have lost your card and need one, call the school for a replacement or extra one
-If you have someone picking up your student and they don't have a card, call the school ahead of time so the student can have a note to ride with that person
