The strawberries have been picked and are on the way! We plan to have them delivered to Guin Elementary School after lunch on March 10th.
Please make arrangements to pick up the strawberries you sold before 4:00 PM that day so they can be delivered while they are fresh.

We are gearing up for Alabama Sun Bucks, preloaded cards with a one-time benefit for summer, and need your help to ensure student information is up-to-date. Parents who have changed their address since registration need to contact their child's school and update their address in PowerSchool by February 28th. Keeping records current will help us serve families more efficiently and make sure children have access to nutritious meals. Thank you!

Key components of the Alabama Literacy Act Reading expectations for 2nd & 3rd grade
During today’s Board of Education meeting, our school counselors were proudly recognized for their dedication and service to our district. This group plays an essential role in supporting students’ academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and college and career readiness. They wear many hats each day—advocate, mentor, problem-solver, encourager, and leader—often working behind the scenes to ensure every student has the support needed to succeed. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering commitment, compassion, and service to our students and schools. Thank you to our outstanding school counselors for the difference you make every single day! Guin Elementary was honored to host an ARI Leadership Lab on Monday. Administrators from around Region 1 joined GES to observe a meaningful, data-driven discussion with GES principal, LRS, and second-grade teachers. It was a great day of learning, collaboration, and growth!
Families, please note that students will be dismissed for a half day on Wednesday, February 4. There will be no afterschool care that afternoon.
Also, 4th grade students will be taking the NAEP state assessment on Thursday, February 5. Because of this, there will be no afterschool for 4th grade only on Thursday

All Marion County schools will operate on a two hour delay tomorrow Tuesday, January 27th. All buses will run two hours after their normal times, and bells will ring two hours later than usual.
