National School Counseling Week recognizes the vital roles school counselors play in the lives of students. School counselors provide a wealth of support throughout a student's academic career. We are thankful for our amazing school counselors, and we appreciate the job they do!

Anyone interested in trying out for cheer for the upcoming season will need to attend the parent meeting this week. Information is provided below along with tryout information. If you have not received an information sheet, you may pick one up in the high school office, contact Coach Wilson, or receive one Tuesday at the parent meeting. Please share!

All Marion County Schools will be closed Monday, January 20, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Tomorrow, January 13th, all Marion County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delay. All buses will run approximately 2 hours later than normal, and classes will begin 2 hours later than usual. This will allow shaded areas more time to clear before school in the morning. Be safe!

Due to the inclement weather expected, ALL Marion County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 10th. We will monitor the situation through the weekend and issue additional information as needed. Please be safe throughout the next few days!

Welcome back from the Christmas holidays! All Marion County Schools will resume tomorrow, January 7, 2025.

As the temperatures begin to drop this week, with highs only in the 30s, we realize we may have some students who will struggle to stay warm. We are hoping to provide these students with a gently used coat or blanket, and warm socks or gloves.
If your child needs some warm items, please reach out to Nurse Candice on Facebook or call her at the school tomorrow. You may also send a note with your student on Tuesday. Please be sure to include your students name, grade, sizes, and what is needed. We need these requests by Tuesday afternoon at 3pm. We hope to have these items to the students by Thursday or Friday. We will do our best to provide for each request, but we cannot guarantee each request will be fulfilled.
If you are a community member and wish to help, please reach out to Nurse Candice on Facebook or at the school tomorrow. Together, we can keep our students warm and learning ❤️
Thank you and Go Bears!

All Marion County Schools will be closed December 23, 2024 - January 6, 2025 for the Christmas holidays. Students will begin the second semester on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Phillips High School JAG Chapter visited the American Village Citizenship Trust located in Montevallo, Alabama on December 4. During their visit, the students learned about the foundations of American liberty and constitutional self-government. This experience included the students engaging with members of the American Village cast who were in costume and character.

All students will dismiss tomorrow, December 20, at 12:00 to begin the Christmas holidays! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Stay safe!

The Phillips High School JAG Chapter held their Officer and Member Installation Ceremony on December 11, 2024.

The Phillips High JAG Chapter has been very busy: they partnered with Alabama PALS (People Against A Littered State) organization to participate in the annual “School Campus Cleanup” program, and they also collected over 300 canned goods in partnership with the local Civitan chapter for those in need in the Bear Creek community for the Thanksgiving Holidays. Great job!
