Phillips High School

The Officers of the Phillips High JAG Chapter recently attended the ACE (Academy for Chapter Excellence) Conference held in Florence, Alabama. The conference is a one-day program designed to assist chapter officers gain the leadership skills to successfully lead their student organization at the local chapter level. Chapter officers from North Alabama gathered together to network, share best practices, discuss ideas, and improve their leadership.

Phillips Schools would like to invite all veterans and active military in our community to our Veterans Day program on Monday, November 10. The program will begin at 8:30 am in the Attie Fleming Complex behind the school. Please arrive at 8:15 am to be seated.

Report cards went home today! Parents and guardians can always access their student's grades on PowerSchool. Contact the office if you need more information about PowerSchool.

The ESL Team—Ana Colburn, Charlotte Howell, Reba Hill, and Vickie Johnson—joined Hamilton Elementary Principal Mr. Gary McCarley for an in-depth professional development session on the ELLevation platform. This training focused on using ELLevation’s powerful tools to track student growth, strengthen collaboration, and enhance instruction for multilingual learners.
Their participation reflects Marion County Schools’ ongoing commitment to excellence in providing the highest quality education for every student.

Statement from the Superintendent: It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of one of our beloved Hackleburg Elementary teachers, Lesley McCollum. She was a valued member of our school community whose dedication, compassion, and commitment to students left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Our hearts go out to Lesley’s family, friends, colleagues, and students during this incredibly difficult time. We will continue to honor Lesley’s legacy in the days ahead.
