Students had the opportunity to draw from a money box yesterday for each group of 10 tickets sold from our fundraiser! 💰Thank you to the generous people who donated the items for us to sell chances on and to the wonderful people who bought chances to support our school. Go Bears! 🐻

THANK YOU!!!

If you sold chances, they must be turned in no later than 9 a.m. tomorrow morning (Friday, Feb. 10). No chances will be accepted after this time so that we are able to do the drawing tomorrow.
We love our Mr. Tuck!
Happy school Counselor's week!

Congratulations to these 4th graders in Miss Harris’ room! They have been using the Reflex math program to work on their math fact fluency. Students have earned certificates for completing facts in groups of 1,000 questions. Zoom in and check out those earned certificates! Collectively all of the 4th graders have answered over 44,000 facts at this point. Wow!

Mrs. Peoples’ 2nd graders are learning about time using an interactive analog clock. Today’s lesson focused on the correct usage of “quarter to”, “quarter past”, and “half past”.

We appreciate the Elks Lodge for their generous donation to help support Phillips Elementary!

There have been some reports that we are not having school today or that we were dismissing and that we have no water here at school. We wanted to clear up those questions and let everyone know that we are at school and we do have water. Thank you!
School will dismiss at 10 due to the possible threat of severe weather.
We look forward to welcoming back our students tomorrow! Our after-school program will also resume normal schedule tomorrow.
Wishing our students and their families a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Temperatures this weekend are expected to be well below freezing. The Bobby Bishop Center in town will be open from noon Thursday through noon on Monday as a temporary warming station in case of emergency heat outage. Stay warm!
Allison Finch in Mrs. Harris’ 4th grade class is rocking her math class. She has mastered the Xtra Math program (all addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts in under 6 seconds). She has also solved 1,000 facts on Reflex Math. Way to go, Allison!

Four State Trooper posts across north AL were called this morning to say there were active shooters. We believe it is the same hoax that happened a couple of weeks ago.
Nothing has been mentioned specifically about our school but we are practicing our lockdown protocol just to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Please do not be alarmed. We just wanted everyone to know we are aware of posts circulating social media and are prepared.
Christmas Dress-Up schedule next week! 🎄🎅

Due to the potential threat for severe weather tomorrow afternoon, there will be no after school program tomorrow. School will operate on a normal schedule.
No school tomorrow in observance of Veterans Day!
Fall pictures forms and money are due by tomorrow if you plan to order!
