Virtual Learning

Marion County Virtual Academy

The purpose of Marion County Virtual Academy (MCVA) is to provide students in grades 7 -12 the option to complete a program of courses designed to lead to receipt of a diploma through an online, virtual platform. Each course will follow the Course of Study developed by the Alabama Department of Education and meet the standards established by the State Board of Education.

Virtual schooling offers students many benefits as they relate to time flexibility and program customization; however, the virtual curriculum is rigorous and requires that students be highly motivated and self-disciplined. By selecting the virtual option, students assume increased responsibility in personal time management, organization, self-direction, and personal discipline to complete the course and school requirements.
