Marion County Schools has purchased Edmentum, an online learning platform and curriculum, which will be used to deliver instruction to Marion County students who choose the virtual school option. This program will be implemented by the Marion County Virtual Academy starting with the 2nd nine-weeks grading period on October 19th, and will remain in place for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.
Currently enrolled virtual students who choose to remain in virtual school can expect 100% of the instruction to take place through the Edmentum platform. It is important to understand that this virtual schooling experience will not be facilitated by the teachers located at the student’s school of enrollment. Learning activities are planned, facilitated, and assessed within Edmentum by the virtual team located at the MCBE central office. The instruction delivered aligns with the Alabama Course of Study, but it will not correlate to the instruction taking place in the traditional classroom environment where the student is enrolled.

Traditional school students (not full-time virtual) who are working remotely will access courses in Schoology.
